
BRIAN STERRIKER
Music Director
​Professor Brian R. Sterriker, Adjunct Professor of Bassoon at MSUM and K-12 Music Teacher in Verndale, has played with multiple orchestras throughout the American Southwest including the New Mexico Philharmonic, the Santa Fe Symphony, Albuquerque Philharmonic, and the San Juan Symphony in the San Juan Valley of Colorado. Two orchestral highlights of his career were performing the Rite of Spring by Igor Stravinsky and the New World Symphony by Antonin Dvorak with the UNM Symphony Orchestra. An MSUM alum, Brian received his Bachelor of Science in Music Education and Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance then went on to receive his Master of Music in Performance at The University of New Mexico. Originally from the Staples Area, he loves to bring music to small communities. During the summer Brian enjoys being Music Director at multiple theatre camps in the Central Minnesota area. Brian began playing with the Long Prairie Chamber Orchestra during the 2024-2025 season and immediately felt right at home.
